Airflow monitoring in clean rooms using thermal flow sensors

Tested and cleared for clean rooms

The highest level of hygiene, quality and particle-free surroundings are important in the planning and production of clean rooms. The purity of the clean room system is substantially dependent on factors such as the quality and introduction of additional air, surfaces, personnel and any equipment located in the clean rooms. It is the equipment in particular which contributes considerably to the contamination of the production surroundings.

The great demands on the installation of flow measuring technology in clean rooms, have given rise to Höntzsch GmbH / Waiblingen designing a flow sensor which, fitted with supreme functionality and the use of suitable materials, fulfils these requirements.

Hence the thermal flow sensors TA 10 were especially technically optimized for the simple ceiling and wall mounting in cooperation with clean room specialists of a well-known, internationally active, German concern. After extensive and successful tests the TA 10 flow sensors were cleared for installation.

The thermal flow measuring system is highly capable of integration. The sensor in thin-film technology is designed for low flow velocities and a short reaction time. In the case of separate installation of sensor and evaluation electronics, further attention was given to ensure that a sufficient length of the connection cable is guaranteed.

The materials used, together with the quality of production, ensure that the sensors have a great availability, excellent repeatability and long-term stability. Every sensor is individually calibrated in the Höntzsch calibration centre and is given a number. Due to the simple configuration of the sensor and the analog output via the RS 232 interface, replacement of the sensors as well as the modification and adjustment of the parameter is guaranteed on-site at any time.
