The principle of measurement is based on heat transport from an electrically heated body in ambient air dependent on the relative velocity between both.
Thermal flow sensors are primarily used for measuring the standard flow velocity Nv from which the standard volume flow and mass flow can be determined irrespective of pressure and temperature.
