ExactSonic II
portable ultrasonic flow meter for liquids
The principle of measurement is also referred to as the transit-time difference method. Using this technique, ultrasound pulses are transmitted alternately through the liquid in the direction of flow and against it. The sensors work variably as transmitter and receiver. The transit time of the sound signals filtered through the medium in the direction of flow is shorter than that against it. The difference in transit time Δt is measured and can be used to calculate the average flow velocity on/over the sound path. Flow rate is determined by the measured flow velocity and the calculated pipe cross-section.
Non-invasive measuring has many benefits:
Accurate results within minutes, easy-to-use, process/flow does not have to be discontinued, no obstruction in the pipe cross section and no pressure loss, no additional overheads since no assembly required.Further benefits...
